Friendship over decades!

I first met Corinna in 1981. My parents moved to the area while I was a student and Corinna was the first friend I made. We hit it off straight away and spent much time together. We liked to explore so would set off with me driving and Corinna navigating and find new places and meet friends. I remember when she learnt to drive. I took her out for driving practice and we had intense discussion debating the best positioning of car on road! A friendship that survives learning to drive is, indeed, true friendship! Corinna's sense of humour was always there. When she asked me to be 'best lady' at her wedding her view was that Chris had a best man so why shouldn't she have a best lady. However, she stopped short of allowing me to make a speech. Perhaps I knew too much! Corinna was there when my father was terminally ill and died soon after we became friends. Her faith in Christ as her savour has remained consistent all the years I have known her. In hospital, when I visited her, she told me how she nearly died, but her trust in God remained strong. As her illness progressed her humour remained, but also her awareness of her family and her pride in her boys. She was so caring for them and had such delight in their becoming young men themselves. Even near the end Corinna counted her blessings, and family were right up there at the top of the list. Corinna, faithful to the end, there is now a gap in many of our lives. You will be missed, but one day we will meet again in paradise. With love, Christine
